The Wenatchee Valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth. From our peaks to the rivers, there are a thousand things to do, every season of the year.
We are at a confluence of two rivers, the rushing Wenatchee and the mighty Columbia in a land enveloped by the foothills and towering peaks of the Cascades. We are a place where the earth’s geology is ever present. We have harnessed the power of our waters to power the west and cultivated our valley to give the world fruits from our orchards and wine from our vineyards.
The spirit of our people is the result of a place that knows how to produce. We put faith in the land to make the harvest each year and have innovated ways to share our bounty across this nation and world. Our innovation does not stop with the land; we invest in our children and believe that education is the key to our future success.
We live a life of abundant choices. Underneath sunny skies we take to the slopes, the rivers, the trails, and the loop to ski, kayak, hike, and bike. Our streets and trails are filled with sculpture bringing art to our people. We are a small town to some and big city to others. But to all, whether visitor or local, we provide a way to escape from everyday routines.
We are a place where a choice made history on the first transpacific flight. We are a place where a community chose to rally behind a vision to build a dam that would free the west. We have made a choice to embrace the future through our past in a building twice scrapped that will emerge as a market that will bring us together. The choices here are as plentiful as the orchards are fruitful.
We invite you to choose this place; to visit, to explore, or to stay.

GBI Centennial Film
Voortex Productions is proud to have partnered with Goodfellow Bros., Inc. to create their brand film, “Who We Are: The Goodfellow Way.” This video captures the essence of a company built on hard work, honesty, and a century-long commitment to transforming our nation’s infrastructure. Through our natural, Cinéma vérité style of filmmaking, we highlighted Goodfellow Bros.’ dedication to professionalism, integrity, and the strong relationships they’ve formed within the communities they serve. Miss Veedol
A Story Lost to Time
On October 5, 1931, Clyde Pangborn, accompanied by co-pilot Hugh Herndon, piloted the first trans-Pacific flight, flying from Misawa, Japan to East Wenatchee, Washington in their Bellanca airplane, Miss Veedol. The story of this historic flight was predominantly lost to time. Even so, a significant connection has since blossomed between the communities of Wenatchee and Misawa, Japan, the official sister-city of East Wenatchee.
Why This Story Matters To Us
As filmmakers, storytellers, and community members of the Wenatchee Valley, we are inspired to further explore the evolving relationship between Misawa and Wenatchee and share the story of Miss Veedol with the world. In doing so, we hope to foster community growth, inspire individuals to dream bigger about their role in the global community, incite community pride, and build connection.

Music: Bium Bium Bambalo by Sigur Ros
Lyrics translated from Icelandic
Bíum bíum bambaló,
Bambaló and dillidillidó
My little friend I lull to rest
But outside, a face looms at the window
When the mighty mountains
Fill your chest with burning desire,
I will play the langspil
And soothe your mind
Bíum bíum bambaló,
Bambaló and dillidillidó
My little friend I lull to rest
But outside, a face looms at the window
When the cruel storms rage
And the dark blizzard crouches above,
I shall light five candles
And drive away the winter shadows -
Legacy Project Intro
The Legacy Project sets out to capture the stories of living legacies in the Wenatchee Valley. We aim to tell stories from every corner of our diverse community. We believe everyone leaves a legacy, some a little more public than others, but everyone affects someone, and everyone has a story to tell.
If your loved one lives in the greater Wenatchee Valley area, we would be honored to meet them, and bring the essence of their story to life on video. The We Are Wenatchee platform is the humble beginning of a virtual stage to showcase these special stories. Consider giving your loved one the gift of preserving their stories. This gift starts out as something for them, but over time it will become a gift your whole family will treasure for generations.
